I can feel it in the air
I can feel it everywhere
Like needles to the spine
A pain inside; not mine
In the anger of that face
In the cry from other place
Forlorn of some
The loss of other
From child and son
From father and mother
Strangers afar
Those unknown
Still ajar
A feeling sown
By empath means
Upon my seams
Absorb then cleanse
To make amends
The empath’s role
Engrained in soul
Yet no one sees
The works of these
And still not bother
The bonds of other
