-Big of Small-
A time of contemplation
Look square upon the soul
The beckoning of memories
A journey and the goal
The roads that I have traveled
And the play of poet’s role
When through the mind comes hither
A portrait of the whole
The memories of a past
The play of laugh and weep
But never dare forget
What words make blissful sleep
That measure-by and measure
Do grant the quality deep
Those little things of pleasure
In home of heart I keep
Like gentle smiles and silent nights
And the kindness I have met
Like bread upon the table
And the words of care I get
For in these simple things
If in remembrance they are let
Comes gratitude sincerely
On Thanksgiving’s table set
