My pockets may be empty
Yet my heart is full
They might say I’m a failure
But I’ve still got my soul
Counted by the numbers
I don’t add-up to much
I’ve no Hollywood face
Or that charismatic touch
I’m always to the side
Where few people see
Yet deep-down within
There’s much more to me
I can’t play by their rules
And I can’t live by that gauge
I blaze my own trail
And I write my own page
